TechFlow news: On September 19, according to official announcements, Tether has made a $1.5 million strategic investment in Sorted Wallet, aiming to enhance financial inclusion across Africa and South Asia. Designed for feature phones and low-end smartphones, Sorted Wallet offers non-custodial wallet services that enable unbanked and underbanked individuals in developing regions to conduct cryptocurrency transactions. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated this move will provide new opportunities for basic phone users to participate in the financial system. Sorted Wallet CEO Stephen Browne emphasized that the platform aims to achieve financial empowerment for millions of users in Africa and South Asia. As of June 2023, India had become the region's largest recipient of crypto asset transaction volume, receiving an estimated $268.9 billion in crypto assets.
