TechFlow news, September 19 — According to an official announcement, North American Bitcoin mining firm Hut 8 has partnered with cryptocurrency mining server manufacturer Bitmain to launch the next-generation ASIC miner U3S21EXPH. This miner is Bitmain’s first mass-commercialized product featuring a U-shaped design with direct liquid-cooling (DLC) chip technology, delivering a performance of up to 860 TH/s and an energy efficiency of 13 J/TH. Hut 8 plans to deploy the miners through approximately 15 EH/s of hosting agreements in the second quarter of 2025, with potential conversion to self-operated mining via purchase options. This collaboration will help Hut 8 expand its computing power, with hosted hash rate expected to increase from 18.5 EH/s to approximately 33.5 EH/s. If all purchase options are exercised, self-operated mining capacity could rise from 5.6 EH/s to about 20.6 EH/s.
