TechFlow news — According to Andrew Vranjes, Head of International Business and Vice President at Blockdaemon, Hong Kong regulators may approve the long-anticipated staking feature for spot Ethereum ETFs this year.
Vranjes told The Block during Token2049 in Singapore that Blockdaemon is working closely with issuers of spot crypto ETFs in Hong Kong and engaging with local regulators on feasible staking solutions. He said regulators could approve staking within "specific structures and boundaries," suggesting a phased approach—potentially starting with qualified investors. Vranjes also indicated it's possible Hong Kong could announce Ethereum ETF staking before the U.S. does.
