TechFlow News, September 18 — According to Chainwire, relational blockchain platform Chromia announced a series of ecosystem expansion plans at the TOKEN2049 conference in Singapore. The company will launch a $20 million Data and AI Ecosystem Fund to support data-intensive projects and AI application development. The fund will be led by Yeou Jie, Chromia's Head of Business Development, who joined the company in early 2024 after previously serving as Portfolio Lead at DeFiance Capital.
Chromia co-founder Henrik Hjelte stated that supporting AI and data center solutions will create broader collaboration opportunities for Chromia and drive the ecosystem toward new directions. Additionally, Chromia revealed its mainnet upgrade plan "Asgard," scheduled for launch in Q4 2024, which will introduce an “Expansion” feature bringing new capabilities to the platform, including oracle solutions, AI model computation, and support for data availability and zero-knowledge proofs. Chromia launched its mainnet earlier this year using an on-chain relational database architecture designed to manage large volumes of interconnected data and improve on-chain querying. The company is now expanding into the data center sector while continuing to grow within industries such as gaming.
