TechFlow news, September 12 — According to Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the matter, OpenAI is in talks with investors to raise $6.5 billion at a valuation of $150 billion. This new valuation is significantly higher than the $86 billion valuation in the company's earlier tender offer earlier this year.
Meanwhile, sources said OpenAI is also in discussions with banks to secure $5 billion in debt financing through a revolving credit facility. The discussions are ongoing and terms could still change. The funding round is expected to be led by Thrive Capital. Microsoft, OpenAI’s largest investor, will also participate, while Apple and Nvidia have been in talks regarding potential investments.
