TechFlow news, according to Cointelegraph, on September 10, U.S. District Judge Philip Brimmer for the District of Colorado dismissed a class-action lawsuit against Estonian cryptocurrency wallet provider Atomic Wallet. The court ruled it lacked jurisdiction over Atomic Wallet, its CEO Konstantin Gladyshev, shareholder Pavel Sokolov, and the affiliated software development firm Evercode Infinite.
The lawsuit stemmed from a hack in June 2023 that compromised approximately $100 million from Atomic Wallet. In his ruling, Judge Brimmer stated that Atomic Wallet's connections with the state of Colorado were insufficient to establish jurisdiction over the company. The judge emphasized that since Atomic Wallet provides a software application service, the company cannot reliably determine users' specific geographic locations. The court granted plaintiffs an additional 21 days to justify why the claims against Ilia Brusov, one of the founders of Evercode Infinite and a 12.8% shareholder in Atomic Wallet, should not also be dismissed.
