TechFlow news — Global digital asset custody firm BitGo announced that its South Korean subsidiary, BitGo Korea, has brought in Hana Financial Group and telecommunications company SK Telecom as strategic investors. Hana Financial and SK Telecom have acquired 25% and 10% stakes in BitGo Korea, respectively.
BitGo currently custodies approximately $70 billion in assets and has processed around $3 trillion cumulatively. BitGo Korea is in the process of applying for ISMS certification and VASP licensing.
Hana Financial will strengthen user protection through the partnership, while SK Telecom plans to integrate its authentication and security technologies with BitGo’s services.
