TechFlow News — DeFi researcher Ignas stated on X that 40% of Telegram's revenue comes from cryptocurrency-related activities, including its integrated wallet (for storing, sending, receiving, and trading cryptocurrencies) and the sale of digital collectibles (such as usernames and virtual phone numbers).
Overall, Telegram generated $342.5 million in revenue in 2023 but still reported a net loss of $108 million by year-end. However, its balance sheet shows nearly $400 million in cryptocurrency holdings (in TON), exceeding the amount of cash it holds.
