TechFlow news, on August 26, according to The Guardian, French judicial authorities extended the detention of Telegram founder Pavel Durov on August 25, as revealed by sources. The investigating judge in charge of the case has prolonged Durov's initial detention to the maximum 96 hours. After the detention period ends, the judge will decide whether to release him or proceed with prosecution.
Durov was previously arrested at Paris-Le Bourget Airport, suspected of involvement in fraud, drug trafficking, organized crime, terrorist propaganda, and cyberbullying. Telegram stated that the company complies with EU laws, including the Digital Services Act, and described the allegations as "absurd." The incident has drawn widespread international attention, with Russia accusing France of "refusing cooperation."
