TechFlow news: Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin tweeted that the applications he hopes to see should possess sustainable utility without sacrificing core principles such as permissionlessness and decentralization. He expressed support for projects like DEXs, decentralized stablecoins (such as RAI), and Polymarket.
Regarding USDC, Vitalik noted that although it is less decentralized than RAI, its convenience and widespread adoption must be acknowledged.
He emphasized that finance is not everything, pointing out numerous centralization threats in today's technological landscape, including political attacks on encrypted communications, centralized identity systems, and vulnerabilities in proprietary operating systems.
Vitalik believes cross-applications between decentralized finance and other decentralized technologies will become increasingly important—for example, Farcaster using financial components for anti-spam mechanisms. He called for greater support for "other decentralized technologies," as these areas often struggle to attract significant venture capital funding.
