TechFlow News, on August 21, according to CCTV News, China's Ministry of Public Security recently successfully received 307 Chinese nationals suspected of cross-border telecommunications and internet fraud from the Wa State region in northern Myanmar, including 20 individuals who were fugitives online. These suspects are accused of committing fraud by setting up virtual currency investment platforms, luring victims into "buying low and selling high" virtual currencies. The criminal gangs had been hiding in the Wa State region of northern Myanmar, exploiting the cross-border nature of their operations to evade supervision.
It is reported that public security organs in Yunnan Province, working with local law enforcement authorities in Myanmar through border policing cooperation, successfully apprehended this group of suspects in the Wa State region of northern Myanmar. Law enforcement officers also seized a large number of tools used in the crimes, including mobile phones and computers. All suspects and related evidence have been transferred to China via the Menglian port of entry in Menglian County, Yunnan. Meanwhile, public security organs in Yunnan simultaneously launched arrest operations against nine other suspects involved in the same case within China.
