TechFlow news, on August 16, according to Decrypt, the South Korean National Pension Service (NPS) recently disclosed significant investment moves into cryptocurrency-related companies, purchasing shares in both MicroStrategy and Coinbase, signaling a strategic interest in the crypto market.
According to newly filed documents, NPS acquired 24,500 shares of MicroStrategy at an average price of $1,377.48 per share during the second quarter of 2023, amounting to a total investment of nearly $34 million. This purchase was made prior to the company's 10-for-1 stock split announced in early August. After the split, NPS’s holdings increased to 245,000 shares, with a current market value of approximately $32.32 million based on a recent closing price of $131.93.
In addition, NPS began investing in Coinbase in 2023, initially acquiring 282,673 shares at an average price of $70.50. As of now, NPS holds 229,807 shares of Coinbase, which have a market value exceeding $45 million based on a recent closing price of $197.12.
