TechFlow reports that bitcoin mining company Cleanspark has disclosed in its latest report an agreement with Bitmain to purchase 26,000 S21 XP immersion bitcoin miners. According to the report, the total value of the transaction is $167.7 million, with a hash price of $21.5 per terahash (T). The total computing power of these new miners will reach 7,800,000 TH/s (7.8 EH/s). Each S21 XP immersion miner delivers 300 TH/s of hash rate, consumes 4,050 watts, and operates at a noise level of approximately 76 decibels.
Notably, the S21 XP immersion miners are expected to launch commercially in October 2024, but large-scale mining firms have already begun securing advance procurement agreements with manufacturers.
Meanwhile, Bitmain also plans to release the Antminer S21 XP Hydro liquid-cooled miner, with an anticipated hash rate of up to 473 TH/s and an energy efficiency of 12.7 J/T. Competitor MicroBT is also developing its own liquid-cooled miner, rumored to offer between 390 and 450 TH/s of hash rate.
