TechFlow reports that token creation platform Pump.fun has announced two major updates (in beta).
First, token creation is now completely free. The creation cost of approximately $2 will be borne by the first buyer, rather than the token creator. This allows creators to launch tokens without purchasing any supply.
Second, when a token completes its bonding curve, the creator will receive a reward of 0.5 SOL (about $80). This reward comes from Pump.fun's migration fee (now reduced to 1.5 SOL), and is granted regardless of whether the creator ever held or still holds the token, aiming to incentivize creators to drive tokens to 100% completion.
Pump.fun also noted that newly created tokens are only written to the blockchain after their first purchase, which may result in discrepancies between the launch time displayed on the platform interface and the actual on-chain time on the mainnet.
