TechFlow news — The legal battle between the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has escalated again. Court filings submitted Monday reveal a dispute over Coinbase's attempt to subpoena communications and other records from the SEC and its employees, including Chair Gary Gensler. These documents could support Coinbase’s defense in an upcoming trial.
Last year, the SEC filed a civil lawsuit against Coinbase, alleging that it operated as an unregistered securities exchange, broker, and clearing agency, and engaged in the unregistered sale of securities.
