TechFlow reports on August 1 that according to official information, cross-chain interoperability platform Wormhole will unlock 6% of its W tokens on August 3, 2024, completing the full release of the community's allocated 17%. These tokens will be held in custody by the Wormhole Foundation and used solely for future community-related initiatives. After this unlock, the circulating status of W tokens is as follows:
Community & Launch: 17% of 17% unlocked
Foundation Treasury: 3.78% of 23.3% unlocked
Ecosystem & Incubation: 5% of 31% unlocked
Strategic Network Participants: 11.6% — not yet unlocked
Core Contributors: 12% — not yet unlocked
Guardian Nodes: 5.1% — not yet unlocked
The total unlocked supply now stands at approximately 25.78%. According to the tokenomics schedule, the next unlock for Strategic Network Participants, Core Contributors, Guardian Nodes, and Ecosystem portions will occur on April 3, 2025.
