TechFlow news, July 29 — According to The Block, Mempool, a Bitcoin blockchain explorer, has launched an off-chain service designed to help users accelerate unconfirmed transactions by paying additional miner and service fees. The first five cooperating mining pools—Foundry USA Pool, MARA Pool, SBICrypto, SpiderPool, and Ocean Pool—collectively represent around 40% of global hash rate. Named Mempool Accelerator, the service allows users on mempool.space to select an acceleration option and pay extra miner and service fees to speed up transaction confirmation. It supports Bitcoin Lightning payments as well as fiat payment methods including Cash App, Apple Pay, and Google Pay, with no registration required.
Mempool forwards acceleration requests to partner mining pools, which may choose to prioritize transactions based on the updated fee rate. The original transaction is not replaced but treated as having a higher fee, increasing its chance of being confirmed in the next block—though confirmation is not guaranteed. Acceleration bids are publicly displayed on Mempool’s block audit dashboard to enhance transparency. However, requests cannot be modified once submitted, and some may be canceled without refund to prevent abuse.
