TechFlow reports that Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 solution, has announced the launch of Fault Proofs on the Sepolia testnet.
This marks a critical step for Base in transitioning toward higher decentralization. Fault Proofs allow anyone to assert and challenge L2 states, reducing reliance on centralized parties. Base stated that, in addition to Fault Proofs, it will introduce a security council in contract upgrades to achieve Stage 1 decentralization as defined by Vitalik.
