TechFlow news — On July 19, Indian cryptocurrency exchange WazirX posted on X that, following a cyberattack incident, it has filed a police report and initiated additional legal actions, and will continue to provide updates to the community.
In immediate response, WazirX has reported the incident to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) and the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), and has contacted over 500 exchanges to block identified addresses. Many exchanges are cooperating, and WazirX is actively working with them, providing further resources to assist recovery efforts.
The action plan includes tracking stolen funds, recovering customer assets, and conducting deeper analysis of the cyberattack. WazirX is collaborating with forensic experts and law enforcement agencies to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
