TechFlow reports that Dylan Meissner, 31, of Connecticut, pleaded guilty in Hartford federal court to stealing over $4 million from his former employer. Meissner, who previously served as vice president of finance at a cryptocurrency research firm, fraudulently diverted company funds for personal use between February and November 2022, stealing approximately $4,461,828.
Meissner pleaded guilty to wire fraud, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, and faces a restitution order of $4,633,424.99. He was released on a $100,000 bond pending sentencing, which is scheduled for October 11. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney David E. Novick.
