TechFlow reports, on July 12, according to LedgerInsights, Phillip Securities' Japanese subsidiary, headquartered in Singapore, has invested in Sony's movie "Hero Island" and plans to issue security tokens to enable consumers to digitally invest in the film. The issuance technology is provided by Securitize Japan, whose parent company is backed by BlackRock.
The movie is scheduled for release in 2025, and token issuance will launch next week on a permissioned blockchain, with each token priced at 100,000 JPY (approximately $629). Investors will not only receive a share of box office revenues but also earn additional rewards based on investment size, such as movie merchandise and premiere tickets. Phillip Securities stated that this initiative aims to transform film production and enhance collaboration between filmmakers and supporters.
