TechFlow reports, on-chain data analyst Jin posted on X that a whale who participated in the 2015 Ethereum ICO spent 15,000 ETH (worth $198,000 at the time) in October 2016 to join SingularDTV's token ICO, acquiring 12.93 million SNGLS tokens—1.3% of the total supply. The token peaked at $0.4354 in 2018, but the whale held without selling and only transferred these tokens to Binance in January 2021, when they were worth just $62,000 (the token was delisted by Binance six months later). Had the whale not participated in that ICO, the 15,000 ETH would have been worth approximately $14.5 million in 2021. However, Jin pointed out that such whales are characterized precisely by long-term holding, which is how they’ve managed to retain large amounts of ICO-obtained ETH until today.
Previous report: According to monitoring by Jin, a whale address that participated in the 2015 Ethereum ICO, after lying dormant for 209 days, transferred 7,000 ETH (worth $24.28 million) to Kraken exchange.
