TechFlow news, OKLink has released its June 2024 security report, revealing that blockchain security incidents across the network caused cumulative losses of approximately $210 million. Among these, phishing incidents accounted for 9.91% of losses, REKT incidents accounted for 20.83%, and RugPull incidents accounted for 3.53%.
The largest single REKT loss occurred on June 10 when UwU Lend was attacked, resulting in approximately $22.7 million in damages. The attacker exploited a vulnerability involving oracle price manipulation, causing around $19 million in losses, and then launched another attack on June 13 by taking advantage of the project team's governance misconfiguration, gaining an additional $3.7 million.
In addition, there were 31 incidents of official social media accounts being compromised by scams and phishing attacks, primarily concentrated on X, Discord, and various phishing websites. OKLink reminds users not to click on unverified links, never disclose your private keys or recovery phrases to anyone, remain skeptical of projects promising unusually high returns, and always conduct thorough research on projects and their teams before investing.
