TechFlow reported, according to Wu Shuo Blockchain, that Sony Group, one of Japan's largest companies, has acquired Amber Japan, officially entering the cryptocurrency exchange sector.
Singapore-based market maker Amber Group acquired Japan-regulated cryptocurrency trading platform DeCurret in early 2022 and renamed it Amber Japan. Later, due to FTX's collapse, Amber Group encountered difficulties and was suspected of conducting a full debt-to-equity swap transaction with Fenbushj. Amber Group's investors include Temasek, Sequoia China, Pantera, Tiger, Coinbase, among others.
Sony’s business spans gaming, music, cameras, and more, with a market capitalization exceeding $100 billion.
