TechFlow news, according to Forbes, Point72 Ventures, the venture capital arm of billionaire Steve Cohen, is cutting five investors focused on fintech and cryptocurrency, shifting its focus toward artificial intelligence and defense technology startups. Among those departing are three investors dedicated to fintech and two members from the digital assets team.
Since its founding in 2016, Point72 Ventures has invested in over 100 startups across fintech, artificial intelligence, consumer, enterprise, and defense technology sectors, with 65 of them in fintech. As the investment boom in fintech cools down, Point72 Ventures is allocating more resources to the rapidly growing field of artificial intelligence.
