TechFlow reports, according to Decrypt, that Rarimo, a cross-chain asset and identity interoperability protocol, has launched RariMe—an identity verification tool competing with Worldcoin—using zero-knowledge proof technology to protect user privacy. RariMe is described as a self-custodial identity wallet capable of unlocking private yet verifiable identity information. Unlike Worldcoin, which generates unique identifiers by scanning users' eyes, RariMe verifies identity simply by scanning a user's passport, generating zero-knowledge proofs to attest to attributes such as age, nationality, or identity. Currently, RariMe is compatible with MetaMask and can be integrated into platforms such as Coinbase, Civic, Gitcoin, and Zealy.
