TechFlow news — According to The Block, the official X account of American legendary heavy metal band Metallica appears to have been hacked and was used to promote a Solana-based token called METAL. The token was deployed via pump.fun and falsely claimed a partnership with Ticketmaster, which has not issued any related announcement. All posts referencing the token have since been deleted.
Keith A. Grossman, President of MoonPay, posted on Metallica's X account warning users about the incident, clarifying that MoonPay does not support the $METAL token on Solana. The event caused the METAL token price to briefly surge before crashing approximately 90%, reducing its market cap to around $43,000. The exact cause of the breach remains unclear at this time.
