TechFlow news, according to Crowdfund Insider, a survey commissioned by Zumo and conducted by Focaldata shows that ahead of the upcoming UK general election, more than one-third of young people in the UK view cryptocurrency as an important election issue.
The survey reveals that 34% of young adults aged 18–24 and 25–34 believe the development of the crypto industry should be a priority for national politicians. It also shows that 38% of those aged 18–24 have personally invested in cryptocurrencies, while 40% (37% among those aged 25–34) know friends or family members who hold crypto assets. A similar proportion of young people (39% among 18–24-year-olds and 37% among 25–34-year-olds) regard this emerging industry as a pathway to long-term high returns.
Nick Jones, founder and CEO of Zumo, said: "As cryptocurrency moves into the mainstream, our survey results show that young people in the UK want it on the political agenda too. Given the widespread instability in traditional financial systems, the UK should support alternative financial solutions rather than react with panic and compare them to gambling. A resilient future financial system should embrace new ideas and structures that deliver added value to consumers."
