TechFlow reports, on June 11, AO community manager JonnyRingo Williams responded to questions about whether $AO would replace $AR or if there would be a migration from Arweave to AO. He clearly stated there will be no "migration." @aoTheComputer exists as a computation layer on top of Arweave but does not replace it. Its role is similar to an L2, with Arweave serving as the L1 layer, though they serve different purposes. $AO will be used for scalable computing, not cheaper transactions.
