TechFlow reports that the Ethereum Foundation is accelerating efforts to establish formal policies addressing potential conflicts of interest arising from researchers accepting "significant" EigenLayer token incentives.
Executive Director Miyamoto Ayaka stated that the foundation recognizes culture and individual judgment alone are insufficient to resolve this issue, and will expedite policy development with updates to be published soon.
Lefteris Karapetsas, former Ethereum software engineer and founder of Rotki, suggested the foundation should appropriately compensate team members to prevent them from seeking additional compensation elsewhere.
Previously, Ethereum Foundation researcher Justin Drake disclosed receiving "significant" Eigen token incentives after becoming an advisor to the Eigen Foundation, sparking discussions around conflicts of interest.
