TechFlow News — Ahmad Shadid, founder and CEO of Solana-based DePIN protocol io.net, shared on X that the team has made significant progress in its two-week pre-launch plan. Below are some of the most notable achievements:
1. The Proof-of-Work (PoW) validation process is now live, running once every six hours across all connected GPUs, with related logs made public. The team is currently auditing the PoW validation and will focus on building a clearer UI and automation for these logs post-launch;
2. Based on user feedback, the "Total GPU" metric in the browser has been renamed to "Unverified" to clarify that these are GPUs attempting to connect but not yet verified as legitimate;
3. The Worker login issue has been resolved, eliminating repeated prompts for users to restart their servers;
4. Workers attempting to run other tasks in parallel on io.net are now automatically blacklisted, resulting in more stable clusters and minimizing reward dilution for committed GPUs;
5. An edge case where users received incorrect GPUs in clusters due to nodes containing mixed GPU types has been fixed.
Prior to the official launch, the team still has several issues to address and improvements to make. The CTO is finalizing a public issue tracker, which will be released this week. Current top priorities include:
- Releasing cumulative Worker activity scores from March 1 to April 25, 2024, with the goal of completing this task this week;
- Fixing the Worker withdrawal payment system;
- Open-sourcing the binary used for Proof-of-Work verification;
- Resolving false malware warning flags when running the new client;
- Updating the IO Worker to indicate when a Worker is undergoing the PoW validation process.
