TechFlow news: PayPal has partnered with nonprofit EnergyWeb to develop a clean energy verification platform that monitors and rewards miners with lower energy consumption. This solution aims to reduce the strain of Bitcoin mining on the U.S. power grid and taxpayers.
Miners create Bitcoin by solving cryptographic puzzles using large, energy-intensive computers. PayPal's proposed solution will distribute Bitcoin to "green" miners who adopt low-carbon energy sources. This helps reduce carbon emissions and mitigate global warming.
