TechFlow news: On January 18, the Arbitrum Foundation announced the Arbitrum Expansion Plan, allowing projects to fork the Arbitrum codebase, modify it according to their business needs, and deploy on any chain that derives security from Ethereum. New Orbit chains are expected to share 10% of their chain revenue with the broader Arbitrum ecosystem—8% going to Arbitrum DAO and 2% to the new Arbitrum Developer Guild.
There is interest in allowing Orbit chains to deploy on blockchain networks beyond Ethereum. The Arbitrum Foundation has requested that Arbitrum DAO decide whether the Arbitrum Expansion Plan should be further extended to permit deployment of new Orbit chains on chains outside of Ethereum.
