TechFlow news — Former Ethereum advisor Steven Nerayoff has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government, accusing it of wrongful prosecution and abuse between 2019 and 2023.
Nerayoff, who previously publicly accused Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin of fraud, is now seeking $9.6 billion in damages related to extortion charges brought against him in 2019.
According to recent court filings, Nerayoff alleges that federal agents knowingly pursued baseless accusations and employed harassment and intimidation tactics, including fabricating evidence.
Nerayoff's legal team argues that the damage inflicted on his reputation and business is sufficient grounds for litigation against the U.S. government.
