TechFlow reports that Arete Capital, a cryptocurrency investment firm founded by former ROK Capital researcher McKenna and ex-growth lead Ilya Paveliev of Haruko, launched its first hybrid fund on April 1 with a target of $20 million. The fund has secured $10 million in commitments and plans to complete fundraising within the next two months.
Half of the capital will be allocated to venture investments, while the other half will go toward liquid token investments, focusing primarily on institutional-grade DeFi, real-world assets, blockchain gaming, and other emerging crypto ecosystems.
The team has appointed three advisors: Collin Erickson, pseudonymous crypto figure SparkC, and Odysseas. They plan to conduct strategic hires over the coming months but intend to remain lean.
