TechFlow News, at the "2024 Hong Kong Web3 Festival," NEAR Protocol co-founder Illia Polosukhin stated that combining Web3 and AI is the solution to address current closed-source language models.
Currently, most AI models are closed-source, meaning people don't know how the training data within these models is generated, creating potential risks. While there's a need for open-source models, various obstacles exist—such as regulatory restrictions on data access for privacy protection and insufficient financial incentives for open-sourcing.
AI language models require direct interaction with users. The best solution is to leverage cryptography and on-chain reputation to resolve these issues, enabling the development of competitive models within Web3.
