TechFlow news, OKLink released its March 2024 security report, revealing that cybersecurity incidents across the entire network caused approximately $190 million in total losses during March. Among these, phishing attacks accounted for 16.72% of losses, REKT events accounted for 25.11%, and RugPull incidents accounted for 9.64%.
The largest loss from a REKT event this month occurred when Curio Ecosystem was attacked, resulting in about $16 million in losses; the most significant RugPull incident involved OrdiZK's cross-chain bridging protocol performing a RugPull, causing approximately $1.4 million in damages.
In addition, there were 50 official social media scams and phishing incidents, primarily concentrated on X (formerly Twitter), Discord, and various phishing websites. OKLink urges users to remain vigilant against scams and phishing attempts, exercise caution when clicking unverified links, and never disclose private keys or recovery phrases. Security awareness remains the most critical shield in the Web3 world.
