TechFlow reported, according to Cryptoslate, the digital euro project has completed its initial investigation phase (October 2021 to October 2023), which focused on concept definition, technical exploration, and design planning. The current preparation phase (November 2023 to October 2025) includes finalizing the rulebook, selecting service providers, conducting experiments for learning, and further research on offline functionality, testing, and launch plans.
The European Central Bank will only consider issuing the digital euro after the EU legislative process is completed. The digital euro could be launched in November 2025.
