TechFlow news, according to a report by the Australian Taxation Office, the value of cryptocurrency assets held in self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs) in Australia has exceeded 650 million Australian dollars (1 billion AUD).
The latest data shows that the value of crypto assets held in SMSFs has quadrupled from 159 million USD three years ago. Approximately two years prior to that, the amount of crypto assets held in SMSFs was virtually zero.
The report notes that the value of digital assets held in SMSFs still remains far below the amounts of traditional assets held in these privately managed funds.
Jason Titman, Chief Operating Officer at Swyftx, said: "A significant number of cryptocurrency investors in Australia want to allocate at least some portion of their retirement savings to cryptocurrencies."
