TechFlow news: A group of attorneys general from eight U.S. states filed a joint amicus brief on Thursday arguing that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) lawsuit against Kraken exceeds the regulator's authority.
In the joint filing, the attorneys general of Montana, Arkansas, Iowa, Mississippi, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, and Texas stated that the amicus does not support either party but "opposes the SEC’s regulation of crypto assets in the absence of investment contracts, as Congress has not delegated such authority to the SEC."
