TechFlow news, according to Blockworks, Bitcoin mining company Riot Platforms has purchased 31,500 WhatsMiner machines from MicroBT for $97.4 million. This purchase will increase the company's self-mining computing power at its Rockdale, Texas mining facility from 12.4 EH/s to 15.1 EH/s by the end of July.
In December last year, Riot disclosed that it had spent $290.5 million to acquire 66,000 mining machines and indicated it might choose to purchase an additional 265,000 MicroBT miners under the same terms, which in the long term could help boost its computing power to over 100 EH/s.
