TechFlow news, Human Institute has launched Humanity Protocol, a privacy-preserving biometric palm recognition protocol for verifying Web3 identities.
According to a press release shared by Cointelegraph, Humanity Protocol went live on February 20 on the Polygon Chain Development Kit (CDK) testnet, developed in collaboration with Animoca Brands and Polygon Labs. Co-founded by Balázs Némethi and Chung Yin, Humanity Protocol aims to provide a less invasive alternative to biometric verification methods such as iris scanning.
Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, said: "By leveraging cutting-edge, non-invasive biometric technology at the core of Proof-of-Human consensus mechanisms, Humanity Protocol is building a user-centric ecosystem enabling millions to access a truly verifiable digital identity solution—decentralized and grounded in the principles of true digital ownership."
It is reported that Humanity Protocol reached 40,000 registered members within three months of its launch.
