TechFlow reports that Casey Rodarmor, founder of the Bitcoin NFT protocol Ordinals, has announced a call for suggestions regarding the genesis RUNE. Submissions are welcome on aspects such as name, currency symbol, divisibility, and minting conditions.
Casey stated that RUNE 0-9 might be hard-coded, with all issued through a public and fair minting process, without any form of pre-mine or pre-allocation.
Previously, Casey announced at Taipei Blockchain Week that the Runes protocol will launch on the mainnet at Bitcoin block height 840,000—coinciding with the next Bitcoin halving, expected to occur on April 23, 2024.
