TechFlow reports that Pete O'Doherty, interim head of the City of London Police's National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB), revealed the discovery of a spoof email address claiming to be from cryptocurrency website Blockchain.com. Authorities found 42 additional domains had been registered, including "actionfraud.info" and "depart-fraud.com," which police promptly blocked.
The NFIB urges individuals affected by cybercrime to report incidents through official channels and helplines. As of December 2023, authorities have successfully taken down nearly 300,000 malicious websites, some involving phishing attempts claiming email recipients had won Tupperware sets.
