TechFlow reports that Elvira Nabiullina, Governor of the Central Bank of Russia, said the bank is discussing the possibility of using central bank digital currency (CBDC) for foreign trade payments.
Nabiullina stated that while Russia opposes the use of cryptocurrencies for domestic transactions, the country remains open to the idea of using cryptocurrencies in foreign trade.
