TechFlow news, according to The Block, Polygon will introduce a blockchain aggregation layer, or "AggLayer," focused on unifying liquidity. It will allow developers to connect blockchains using zero-knowledge proofs, leveraging Ethereum for settlement.
The first version of AggLayer is set to launch in February, ensuring unified security across modular and monolithic chains—including those within the Polygon ecosystem. AggLayer will serve as a key component of the next-generation network, Polygon 2.0. Unlike typical interoperability solutions, AggLayer will aggregate ZK proofs from all connected chains.
Polygon primarily operates the sidechain and Layer2 network Polygon zkEVM based on ZK-Rollups. It also offers a software development kit called CDK, which has been used to build many Layer2 networks. AggLayer is expected to facilitate the integration of all these chains under Polygon 2.0.
