TechFlow news, according to The Block, Taiko, a zkRollup-based Ethereum Layer 2 network, has launched its final testnet Katla, with the mainnet expected to go live by the end of Q1 2024.
Katla is the sixth testnet from Taiko developers and introduces a new rollup design called Competing Proofs Rollup (CPR), which combines elements of both Optimistic and ZK-rollups—expected to benefit decentralized applications requiring high throughput and cost efficiency.
It was reported that in June 2023, Taiko raised $22 million in two seed funding rounds: the first round secured $10 million led by Sequoia Capital China, and the second round raised $12 million led by Generative Ventures.
