TechFlow reports, Doug Colkitt, founder of the decentralized exchange protocol Ambient, stated that Ethereum is the only chain with a long-term plan to address state bloat. He mentioned that Verkle trees could make witness data small enough to be attached to each block, enabling validators and nodes to become stateless, while all state can be stored off-chain more efficiently.
In response, Andre Cronje, director of the Fantom Foundation, said that Fantom has already solved the state bloat issue by using aBFT consensus and the new database Carmen, which enables state pruning, reducing state size from ~2TB (archival) down to 60GB (archival).
