TechFlow News — Senior members of the Algorand proof-of-stake blockchain ecosystem have joined forces to launch a new open-source code version called Voi, currently on testnet.
The project is led by Chris Swenor, co-founder of Reach, a blockchain development platform, and HumbleSwap, a decentralized exchange (DEX) on Algorand.
In addition, Voi has announced the completion of its seed funding round, with participation from early Algorand investors Arrington Capital and Sonic Boom Ventures. The funding amount has not been disclosed.
Notably, unlike Ethereum's EthPoW fork, Voi will only fork Algorand's codebase without forking its chain state. Voi will launch its own native token, which will have no ownership linkage to the ALGO token.
