TechFlow reports that French AI startup Mistral AI has announced a €385 million ($415 million) funding round at a $2 billion valuation, led by Andreessen Horowitz and Lightspeed Ventures. The funds will be used to develop its technology and open-source software.
Mistral AI focuses on generative AI tools, chatbot development, and customizable open-source technologies, aiming to make its products publicly available by early 2024. Founded by former researchers from DeepMind and Meta, the company aims to compete with OpenAI and Google in developing generative AI infrastructure.
